Ongoing Research Projects

IPAR-Rwanda has been contracted by Surbana Jurong Consultants to update the existing Kigali City Masterplan. IPAR’s research team is currently collecting vital data on commercial housing component which will be the basis for the updating the Masterplan. The objective of this research project is to generate projections of population growth, employment creation and growth projections of different economic activities in Kigali.



IPAR-Rwanda is the leading independent, not-for-profit research and policy analysis Think Tank in Rwanda. It became fully functional in 2008 with the support of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) with initial start up support from the Government of Rwanda. We conduct research in a wide range of areas but our focus areas include : Agriculture, Rural Development and Settlements, Social Development, Governance, Economic Growth and Transformation, Environment and Natural Resources Management.
